In November 2023, Jeannie and Audrey volunteered at Employment Authorization Clinics in Reading, Massachusetts, which were organized by the state of Massachusetts in conjunction with local non-profit organizations and AILA. These clinics were organized to assist recent migrants living in shelters in Massachusetts in securing employment authorization. The clinics were covered in the local media.
On October 6, 2023, Jeannie and Audrey both spoke at AILA New England’s annual chapter conference. Jeannie moderated a panel of speakers from USCIS, CBP and ICE; Audrey spoke on complex family-based immigration.
On May 8, 2023, Audrey and her colleagues from AILA’s asylum liaison committee published an article in the Boston Globe regarding current asylum policies. This opinion piece was entitled “Biden administration employs Trump-style immigration tactics.”
